How much does acupuncture cost?

Your consultation runs 30–40 minutes and starts from $75. Treatment costs are discussed with you on the day, straight after your consultation — our treatments are highly personalised, so we quote once we understand your condition and what you actually need. If you have extras cover that includes acupuncture, you can claim your rebate on the spot through HICAPS and pay only the gap.

What should I expect at my first visit and how do I prepare?

Your first visit takes about 60 minutes and includes a health history, tongue and pulse diagnosis and, usually, treatment on the same day. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, eat something beforehand, and allow a little time for parking on Phillip Street or nearby Eat Street and Horwood Place.

With a registered practitioner and single-use sterile needles, acupuncture is very safe. Minor, temporary effects can include slight bruising, tiredness or lightheadedness.

Acupuncture is generally not covered by Medicare. Chiropractic care may attract a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) rebate with a GP referral under a care plan — ask us and we will help you check your eligibility.

We prescribe from a dispensary of more than 400 herbs as granules, tablets or raw decoctions, tailored to your individual diagnosis. You will receive clear instructions on dose and timing, and we review your formula as your treatment progresses.

Yes, we can offer online consultations for Herbal Medicine treatment, for our patients who live far or are unable to travel to our clinic. If you wish to proceed with treatment, Your herbs can be delivered via Australia Post.
